How Tower plays
- Pick a mode. Harder modes hide more traps and pay more.
- On each floor, tap one door.
- A safe door lets you climb and raises your multiplier.
- Climb all 9 floors for the top multiplier.
The rule people miss: A trap door ends the round and loses the bet. Cash out between floors to keep your multiplier.
Tower is a step-by-step cash-out game with nine floors. On each floor you pick one door; a safe door lets you climb and raises your multiplier, and a trap door ends the round and loses the bet. Between floors you can tap Cash out to keep the multiplier you have.
If you have played Mines: how to play, odds and RTP, the idea is familiar, but Tower fixes the shape of the risk: every floor in a mode has the same number of doors and traps, so the chance of surviving a floor never changes as you climb. Coins are virtual and have no cash value.
How a round works
- Pick a mode. Harder modes hide more traps and pay more.
- On each floor, tap one door.
- A safe door takes you up a floor and raises the multiplier.
- Cash out between floors, or climb all 9 floors for the top multiplier.
The trap door (or doors) on all nine floors are drawn on the server before your first tap.
Modes and risk
| Mode | Doors per floor | Traps per floor | Safe chance per floor | Chance to clear all 9 | Top multiplier |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Easy | 4 | 1 | 75.0% | 7.5% | 12.91x |
| Medium | 3 | 1 | 66.7% | 2.6% | 37.29x |

| Expert | 3 | 2 | 33.3% | 0.005% | 19,092.51x |
Hard is a coin flip every floor, which makes its climb look exactly like Coin Flip: How It Works, Odds and Payouts with nine flips. Expert gives you one safe door in three and is the most extreme mode: reaching the top is about a 1 in 19,683 shot.

Multiply any cell's multiplier by its chance and you get 0.97, the same return on every cell. The Expert chances for floors 7 to 9 are below 0.1% and are left out. The payout rules shared by all games are listed on the odds page.
A worked example
You play Medium with a 500-coin bet and cash out after floor 4. Each floor is safe 2 times in 3, so the chance of clearing four floors is (2/3)^4 = 19.75%. The multiplier is 0.97 / 0.1975 = 4.91x, which pays 2,455 coins. If you had pushed on to floor 5, the multiplier would have risen to 7.36x (about 3,682 coins) with a 13.17% chance of getting there. Both choices return 97% on average; the second just wins less often and pays more.
Max win and caps
Expert's 19,092.51x is the biggest possible Tower payout and sits under the game-wide limits of 50,000x the bet and 250,000,000 coins per round. At that multiplier, a bet above about 13,094 coins would hit the 250,000,000-coin cap first, and the round would be paid at the cap.
How it differs from other step games
Tower's per-floor risk is the same all the way up; Mines: how to play, odds and RTP gets riskier as the board empties; Road Hop: How It Works, Odds and Payouts has a single trap chance per mode but a long road; Duck Shoot: How It Works, Odds and Payouts ends a round only when no paying count is reachable. The family overview is Cash-Out Ladder Games: Road Hop, Tower and More, and How cash-out games work explains the 97% pricing that all of them share.
Tips that hold up
- Mode decides everything. Each mode returns 97% on average. Easy gives smoother results; Expert gives long losing streaks and rare very large wins.
- The door you pick is irrelevant. There is no pattern to read in earlier floors or earlier rounds.
- Cashing out early is a style, not an edge. It changes how often you win, not the average.
- Watch the chance column, not the multiplier. On Hard, floor 5 is already a 3% outcome.
Play with limits
Tower's top modes lose most rounds by design. Decide how many rounds you are happy to lose before you start, and see Play Safely in Cashout Arcade: Limits and Breaks for ways to set limits. Cashout Arcade is for adults aged 18+, uses virtual coins and has no real-money prizes.
Frequently asked questions
How many floors does Tower have?
Nine, in every mode. What changes between modes is how many doors each floor has and how many of them are traps.
Which Tower mode is the safest?
Easy, with four doors and one trap per floor, so each floor is safe 75% of the time. It also pays the least, with a top of 12.91x.
Does it matter which door I pick?
No. The traps on every floor are placed at random on our servers when the round starts, so every door on a floor is equally likely to be safe.
Can I win real money?
No. Coins are virtual and have no cash value.
