Road Hop: How It Works, Odds and Payouts
Road Hop in Cashout Arcade: cross lane after lane, dodge hidden traps and cash out between lanes. Four modes with exact trap chances and multipliers.

How Road Hop plays
- Tap Go to cross one lane. The badge shows your lane out of the total.
- Every safe lane raises the multiplier.
- Tap Cash out between lanes to keep the multiplier shown.
The rule people miss: Hit a trap and the round ends: you lose the bet.
Road Hop is a step-by-step cash-out game. You cross a road one lane at a time; every safe lane raises the multiplier, and a hidden trap ends the round with the bet lost. Between lanes you can tap Cash out to keep the multiplier shown.
It plays like Mines: how to play, odds and RTP and Tower: How It Works, Odds and Payouts, the other step-by-step games in Cashout Arcade, but with one big difference: the trap chance is the same on every lane, so the risk is steady rather than a pick between tiles or doors. Coins are virtual with no cash value.
How a round works
- Choose a mode: Easy, Medium, Hard or Hardcore.
- Tap Go to cross one lane. The badge shows your lane out of the total.
- A safe lane raises the multiplier. A trap ends the round and the bet is lost.
- Tap Cash out between lanes to keep the multiplier shown, or keep crossing. Reaching the last lane pays the top multiplier for that mode.
Each lane is independent of the ones before it, and the whole trap layout is drawn on our servers when the round starts, before your first tap.
Modes and risk
| Mode | Lanes | Trap chance per lane | Chance of crossing all lanes | Top multiplier |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Easy | 24 | 1 in 25 (4.00%) | 37.54% | 2.58x |
| Medium | 22 | 1 in 16 (6.25%) | 24.18% | 4.01x |
| Hard | 20 | 1 in 12 (8.33%) | 17.55% | 5.52x |
| Hardcore | 15 | 1 in 10 (10.00%) | 20.59% | 4.71x |
Notice that Hardcore does not have the highest top prize. It has the most dangerous lanes but the shortest road, so you are never asked to survive as many of them. Hard gives the longest odds of the four.
Odds and payout table
The multiplier after n safe lanes is 0.97 divided by the chance of surviving n lanes. For example, on Medium each lane is safe 15 times in 16, so after 5 lanes the survival chance is (15/16)^5 = 72.42% and the multiplier is 0.97 / 0.7242 = 1.3394, shown as 1.33x.
| Safe lanes crossed | Easy | Medium | Hard | Hardcore |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1.01x | 1.03x | 1.05x | 1.07x |
| 5 | 1.18x | 1.33x | 1.49x | 1.64x |
| 10 | 1.45x | 1.84x | 2.31x | 2.78x |
| Final lane | 2.58x (24) | 4.01x (22) | 5.52x (20) | 4.71x (15) |
Early multipliers are small: one safe lane on Easy pays 1.01x, barely above your bet. The rest of the tables are on the odds page, and every figure is derived from the same 97% pricing rule that How cash-out games work explains.
A worked example
You play Hard with a 200-coin bet. Each lane is safe 11 times in 12. You cross 10 lanes: the chance of getting that far is (11/12)^10 = 41.9%, and the multiplier is 2.31x, worth 462 coins. If you cash out there you keep 462. If you push on to lane 11 the chance of survival drops to 38.4% and the multiplier rises to about 2.52x. The average return of continuing is the same as stopping, 97 coins per 100 bet, because the multiplier rises exactly as fast as the risk.
Max win and caps
The biggest possible win in Road Hop is the top multiplier in the table (5.52x in Hard), well under the game-wide limits of 50,000x the bet and 250,000,000 coins per round. That makes Road Hop one of the calmer cash-out games: the biggest swing available is a bit over five times your stake.
How it differs from Tower and Pump
Tower: How It Works, Odds and Payouts changes the risk with each mode by changing the number of doors and traps per floor, and every floor has a decision. Road Hop keeps one repeated risk per mode and no decisions except when to stop. Pump: How It Works, Odds and Payouts is the same idea with a pop chance instead of lanes. The family overview is in Cash-Out Ladder Games: Road Hop, Tower and More.
Tips that hold up
- The mode is the only real choice. It decides how often you lose and how big the top prize is; every mode returns the same 97% on average.
- There is no safe lane. Because the layout is random and fixed in advance, no lane pattern or timing helps.
- Stopping early does not beat the house. It only makes your results smoother.
- Easy is not a free ride. One trap in 25 sounds rare, but over 24 lanes you lose the round 62% of the time.
Play with limits
Slow, steady rounds can run on for a long time. Pick a session length before you begin, and read Play Safely in Cashout Arcade: Limits and Breaks for ways to set limits. Cashout Arcade is for adults aged 18+, with virtual coins and no real-money prizes.
Frequently asked questions
Which Road Hop mode has the biggest top multiplier?
Hard, at 5.52x for crossing all 20 lanes. Hardcore has the highest trap chance (1 in 10 per lane) but only 15 lanes, so its top is 4.71x.
Is lane 20 harder than lane 1?
Not on its own. Every lane in a mode has the same trap chance. The chance of getting to lane 20 is small only because you must survive 19 lanes first.
Do the traps move while I wait?
No. The trap layout is drawn on the server when the round starts, so waiting or tapping faster changes nothing.
Can I win real money?
No. Coins are virtual and have no cash value.
