Virtual currency (in-game coins explained)
Virtual currency is money-like points that exist only inside a game. How Cashout Arcade coins work, the scale of the numbers, and what they cannot do.
On this page
A virtual currency is a unit of value that exists only inside a game or app, such as the coins in Cashout Arcade. You can earn it by playing and, in many apps, buy it with real money, but you cannot withdraw it, sell it or exchange it for money, goods or prizes.
That one-way flow is the defining feature. Real money can go in through a purchase; nothing comes out.
How coins work in Cashout Arcade
Coins are the stake and the prize in every game. They have no cash value and cannot be withdrawn or exchanged for prizes, and the odds page repeats that for every game. Coins come from several places:
- purchases in the shop, which give exactly the amount shown, with no random items,
- the daily Gift Wall, where prizes run from 1,000 to 50,000 coins and an average wall pays 19,445 coins before bonuses,
- the login calendar, which pays 5,000 coins on day 1 up to 75,000 on day 7,
- winning rounds in games.
Why the numbers are so big
Virtual currencies often use large numbers, and that is by design: a reward of 5,000 sounds substantial, yet it is a small stake in a game where bets are set in the tens or hundreds. The size of a number says nothing about its worth. A balance of ten million coins is worth exactly as much as a balance of ten: nothing outside the app. Compare what a number buys inside the app, not how many digits it has.
What a virtual currency can and cannot do
| It can | It cannot |
|---|---|
| Be spent on rounds, upgrades and extras inside the app | Be turned into cash, gift cards or prizes |
| Be bought with an in-app purchase | Be sold or transferred for money |
| Go up and down with play | Hold value if the app closes or the account is deleted |
Because coins are tied to the account, deleting the account removes them.
Common misconceptions
- "If I win a lot of coins, I can cash them out." There is no cash-out for money. In the game, "cash out" only means ending a round with a multiplier. See Cash out (cash-out game term).
- "Virtual means risk-free." Games can still be absorbing, and buying coins is real spending.
- "Coins I bought are an investment." They are a consumable, like a ticket.
