Free Casino Games for iPhone: Types and What to Expect
What free casino games on iPhone really are, the main types from slots to cash-out games, what you can win (coins only), and how to play safely.
On this page
"Free" casino games on iPhone mean games that are free to download and play but built around a virtual currency, with optional purchases. You cannot win money, and in Cashout Arcade you cannot win prizes. This guide describes the main types of game, what the numbers mean and what to expect, using our own 61 games as examples.
What "free" means here
- Free to download and to start. You get a starting balance of coins.
- Free coins keep coming. In Cashout Arcade there is a free Lucky Pick every 15 minutes, a daily Gift Wall, a login calendar and a low-balance refill, so you never need to buy coins to keep playing.
- Optional purchases exist. Coin packs cost from $1.99 to $99.99, and there are a subscription (Club Pass) and one-time themes. All are billed by Apple and shown before you buy. See Social Casino Spending: How In-App Purchases Work.
- Free is not the same as consequence-free. Time and spending are still yours to manage.
Types of free casino game
Games in this category fall into four groups. The counts below are our own library of 61 games, grouped by the categories shown in the app.
| Type | What it is | Examples in Cashout Arcade |
|---|---|---|
| Slots and instant wins | Spin or open something and see the result at once | Slots, Sun Temple, Scratch, Wheel, Keno |
| Table games | Cards, dice and wheels with casino rules | Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat, Craps, Poker (Jacks or Better) |
| Cash-out games | A multiplier grows and you decide when to lock it in | Mines, Crash, Tower, Road Hop |
| Arcade and carnival games | A chance mechanic inside a game from the fairground or arcade | High Striker, Claw Machine, Coin Pusher, Ring Toss |
Slots
Reels with a pay table. Our free slots guide covers how the maths differs between games, and Sun Temple: how it plays, odds and payouts is a full feature slot with bonuses.
Table games
Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat, Craps and Poker follow familiar rules, with a few simplifications. Blackjack in Cashout Arcade uses basic-strategy-friendly rules and returns 97% only if you play well; if you never double it returns 95.6%, and always standing returns 82.2%. See Blackjack: How It Works, Odds and Payouts and the Odds page.
Cash-out games
You place a bet, a multiplier rises, and you decide when to lock it in. A wrong step or an early crash ends the round. These are the most popular newer type and the most misunderstood: the multiplier is a price set by the chance of surviving, not a prize. The worked example is in How cash-out games work.
Arcade and carnival games
Games like Claw Machine and Coin Pusher borrow the look of a physical machine. The result is still decided by the game's random draw rather than by physics, so what you see is the animation of a result that was already set.
What you win
Coins. A larger coin total is a record of how a session went and nothing else. Each game has a published biggest win (for example 2,964x the bet on high-risk Slots), and a hard cap applies to every game: no single round pays more than 50,000 times the bet or more than 250,000,000 coins.
Most games return 97% of the coins wagered over time (a 3% house edge); fixed prize tables return slightly less (at least 96.5%). The detail is on the Odds page.
Playing without downloading, and offline
Some websites let you play casino games in a browser. Cashout Arcade is an iPhone app and this site is an explanation, not a place to play. The app needs an internet connection, because the server, not your phone, decides every result.
Age and safety
Apple places frequent simulated gambling in its 18+ tier, and Cashout Arcade is for adults only. Before you play any casino-style game:
- Decide how long you want to play and stop when the time is up.
- Set a spend limit or turn purchases off (see How to Set App Spending Limits on iPhone).
- Treat every round as independent: a streak does not make the next result more likely to be good.
- If it stops being fun, take a break. Cashout Arcade has breaks of 24 hours, 7 days and 30 days.
If gambling has caused you harm before, free casino-style games can be a trigger. The Responsible play section has free, confidential help.
Our games by type
See the full list on Games. A good way to choose is by how you like to play: pick Slots for a quick spin, Blackjack for decisions, Mines for pacing, High Striker for a short burst.
Frequently asked questions
Does Cashout Arcade work offline?
No. Every result is decided on our servers, so the app needs an internet connection. If a round is interrupted it is resumed from the server when you reopen the app.
Can I play without downloading?
Cashout Arcade is an iPhone app, so it needs to be installed. This website explains the games but does not let you play them.
