How Slapshot plays

  1. Set your bet and tap Start.
  2. Take a step or make a pick. Each one is safe or it ends the round.
  3. Every safe step raises the multiplier.
  4. Tap Cash out between steps to keep the multiplier shown.

The rule people miss: If the round ends on a hazard before you cash out, you lose the bet.

Slapshot is a hockey game built around a power-play cycle. You work the puck deeper into the zone with passes, and each kept pass raises what you can collect. From the point on you can take one shot for a bigger jump, or change lines and keep what you have. A turnover or a save loses the bet. Coins are virtual and have no cash value.

How a round works

  1. Pick 5-on-3, Power Play or Even Strength, set your bet and start.
  2. Pass. The puck is either kept, which raises the pot, or turned over, which ends the round. You can pass up to six times.
  3. After the second pass you are at the point and may take one shot. A goal pays the shot multiplier and ends the round; a save loses the bet.
  4. After any kept pass you can change lines to cash out the pot you have.

All six passes and the shot are decided on our servers when the round starts. The clock, the goalie and the timing of your shot change nothing.

The shot

The goalie is the same in every mode. The chance of a goal depends on how deep you are when you shoot.

Every action is priced as a fair bet: the chance times the factor it multiplies the pot by equals one. That is why every plan of passing, shooting and changing lines returns 97% over time.

Worked example

You bet 100 coins on Power Play and keep four passes (31% of the time). Change lines and you collect 310 coins. Shoot instead: 32% chance of a goal for 970 coins, 68% chance of a save and nothing.

Max win and limits

The top result is Even Strength with all six passes kept and a back-door goal: 92.04x the bet, about a 1 in 95 chance. The other modes top out at 22.17x (Power Play) and 5.57x (5-on-3). The game-wide limits (50,000x the bet, 250,000,000 coins per round) cannot be reached. Volatility is medium.

What matters and what does not

  • The mode: it sets how risky each pass is, not the average return.
  • Pass or shoot, and when to change lines: these set how big a win can be, not the long-run return.
  • Shot timing: a bar or a swing animation does not alter the saved result.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to shoot?

No. You can change lines (cash out) after any successful pass. The shot is optional and available from the point, after your second pass.

Can I take more than one shot?

No. You get one shot per round. A goal pays and ends the round; a save loses the bet.

Which mode is best?

None. 5-on-3, Power Play and Even Strength all return 97% over time. 5-on-3 keeps most passes and pays little; Even Strength turns the puck over often and pays a lot.

Does the shot timing matter?

No. Every pass and the shot are decided on our servers when the round starts, so timing and taps cannot change them.
