How Safe Crack plays
- Pick a difficulty.
- Tap to turn the dial and click each lock into place. The locks get harder.
- Every lock raises the Cash out value.
- Click all four to open the vault and reveal its prize card.
The rule people miss: A missed lock trips the alarm and loses the bet. Cash out between locks to keep the pay. The vault card can pay less or more than the full crack.
Safe Crack is a four-lock ladder with a reveal at the end. You turn the dial and click each lock into place; every lock you open raises the Cash out value, a missed lock trips the alarm and loses the bet, and if you open all four the vault swings open and a prize card decides whether the final pay is smaller or larger than the plain full-crack value.
How a round works
- Pick a difficulty: Easy, Medium, Hard or Hardcore. Set your bet and start.
- Turn the dial and click the first lock. Whether it holds was decided on our servers when the round started, so the dial itself is only the show.
- Each lock that holds raises the Cash out value. Tap Cash out between locks to keep it.
- A missed lock trips the alarm: the round ends and the bet is lost.
- Open all four and the vault card is revealed. It was also drawn at the start, so what you do cannot change it.
How hard each lock is
| Mode | Lock 1 | Lock 2 | Lock 3 | Lock 4 | Chance of opening the vault |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Easy | 90% | 85% | 80% | 75% | 45.9% |
| Medium | 85% | 75% | 65% | 55% | 22.8% |
| Hard | 75% | 60% | 50% | 40% | 9% |
| Hardcore | 60% | 45% | 35% | 25% | 2.4% |
Pay by stage
Each cell shows the chance of reaching that stage and the pay there.
| Step | Easy | Medium | Hard | Hardcore |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cash out after lock 1 | 90% / 1.0777x | 85% / 1.1411x | 75% / 1.2933x | 60% / 1.6166x |
| Cash out after lock 2 | 76.5% / 1.2679x | 63.75% / 1.5215x | 45% / 2.1555x | 27% / 3.5925x |
| Cash out after lock 3 | 61.2% / 1.5849x | 41.44% / 2.3408x | 22.5% / 4.3111x | 9.45% / 10.26x |
| Vault: Bonds | 20.66% / 0.8452x | 10.26% / 1.7024x | 4.05% / 4.311x | 1.06% / 16.42x |
| Vault: Cash | 16.07% / 1.9018x | 7.98% / 3.8304x | 3.15% / 9.6999x | 0.827% / 36.95x |
| Vault: Gold | 6.89% / 4.2264x | 3.42% / 8.5122x | 1.35% / 21.55x | 0.354% / 82.11x |
| Vault: Diamonds | 2.3% / 8.6641x | 1.14% / 17.45x | 0.45% / 44.18x | 0.118% / 168.33x |
The vault rows are the full-crack pay times the card, so they add up to the chance of reaching the vault.
Worked example: Hard
The chance of holding the first two locks is 75% x 60% = 45%, so cashing out after lock 2 pays 0.97 / 0.45 = 2.1556x and is reached in 45% of rounds. After lock 3 the chance is 22.5% and the pay 4.3111x. The full crack is 9% of rounds and has a base pay of 10.7778x before the card.
Now the interesting part. Standing on 4.3111x after lock 3, you can bank it or try the last lock. Lock 4 holds 40% of the time, and then the card is 0.4x (Bonds, 45%), 0.9x (Cash, 35%), 2x (Gold, 15%) or 4.1x (Diamonds, 5%). The worst card, Bonds, pays 0.4 x 10.7778 = 4.311x, almost exactly the pay you already had. The others pay 9.7x, 21.55x and 44.18x. On average that is 40% x 10.7778 = 4.3111x: exactly what you gave up, so trying the last lock is a fair bet that adds a long tail on the upside.
Max win and limits
The best result is Diamonds on Hardcore, 168.33x the bet, with a chance of 1 in 847. On Hard it is 44.18x (1 in 222) and on Easy 8.66x. The game-wide limits (50,000x and 250,000,000 coins per round) are out of reach. Volatility is high on Hard and Hardcore, much lower on Easy.
What matters and what does not
- Mode: sets how fast the risk grows. All four modes return 97%.
- Skill at the dial: none. The locks are drawn at the start; the dial is the reveal.
- The vault card: a surprise at the end that averages out. It does not make riding to the vault better or worse than cashing out before it.

How it differs from other cash-out games
Laser Heist gives you a shield that forgives one mistake, so a tripped beam halves your take instead of ending the round. Safe Crack has no second chance, but it does have the vault card at the end. Compare both with Tower and Mines, where the odds per step are fixed and no final reveal exists.
Play with limits
Coins are virtual, have no cash value and cannot be withdrawn or exchanged for prizes. For adults (18+), for entertainment. Set a time limit before you play; see playing safely in Cashout Arcade.
Frequently asked questions
What is the vault card?
When you open the fourth lock, a vault prize card multiplies the full-crack pay: Bonds x0.4 (45%), Cash x0.9 (35%), Gold x2 (15%) or Diamonds x4.1 (5%). The cards average exactly x1, so the card never changes the 97% return.
Do the locks get harder?
Yes. In every mode each lock holds less often than the one before it, for example 75%, 60%, 50% and 40% on Hard.
Can I cash out between locks?
Yes. After any of the first three locks you can tap Cash out (lock in the multiplier you hold). The vault card is only revealed if you open the fourth lock.
