How Mole Bash plays

  1. Set your bet and tap Start.
  2. Take a step or make a pick. Each one is safe or it ends the round.
  3. Every safe step raises the multiplier.
  4. Tap Cash out between steps to keep the multiplier shown.

The rule people miss: If the round ends on a hazard before you cash out, you lose the bet.

Mole Bash is a pop-up mole streak. Nine moles pop up one after another. Gold moles count towards your payout, plain moles do nothing, and a bomb mole ends the round early. The number of gold moles you bash decides the pay, from nothing for fewer than two golds to 750x for all nine.

Coins are virtual and have no cash value. All nine moles are drawn on our servers when the round starts, so your timing has no effect on the result.

How a round works

  1. Set your bet and start.
  2. Moles pop up one at a time. Each is gold (30%), plain (60%) or a bomb (10%).
  3. After each mole, you may cash out or carry on.
  4. A bomb ends the round at once. After the ninth mole the round ends too. The round pays according to the number of golds bashed.

A bomb does not take away the golds you have already bashed; it only stops you collecting more.

The "chance" column takes the bombs into account: a round that hits a bomb early ends with fewer golds. The pays multiplied by these chances add up to 0.966, so Mole Bash returns 96.611%, a little under the 97% of most games. The shared limits for all games are on the odds page.

What the table tells you

  • Nearly half of rounds pay nothing. Fewer than two golds pays zero, and that happens in 47.7% of rounds.
  • Only 16.4% of rounds pay more than your bet. You need 4 golds or more for 1.9x.
  • Three golds and under are partial wins or losses. 3 golds pays 0.9x, less than your bet.
  • The top prizes are very rare. All nine golds takes nine golds in a row: 0.3 to the power of 9.

Cash out between moles

The cash-out value after each mole is the exact average of what the remaining moles would pay. For example, after 3 moles with 2 golds bashed, cashing out pays about 2.42x; after 5 moles with 4 golds, about 8.57x; after the very first mole if it is gold, about 1.86x. Because it is a true average, taking the cash-out and playing on both return 96.61% in the long run, whatever your plan. Cashing out is a choice about risk, not value.

A worked example

You bet 100 coins. The first mole is gold, the second plain, the third gold. After three moles with 2 golds, Cash out offers about 242 coins (2.42x), the average of what the six remaining moles would pay. Say you carry on and the six remaining moles bring three more golds and no bomb: you finish with 5 golds and the round pays 4.5x, or 450 coins. If instead the fourth mole is a bomb, the round ends with your 2 golds, which pays 0.4x, or 40 coins. Both were possible from the same position, and the cash-out offer of 242 is the average of all the ways it could go.

Max win and caps

The biggest Mole Bash payout is 750x the bet, for nine golds. That is far below the game-wide limits of 50,000x the bet and 250,000,000 coins per round, and it happens about once in 50,805 rounds.

What is the same as other collection games

Balloon Pop: How It Works, Odds and Payouts is the other game where what you collect decides the pay, but there the board is visible and your stopping choice affects your return. In Mole Bash the cash-out is priced for you. Duck Shoot: How It Works, Odds and Payouts and Knockdown: How It Works, Odds and Payouts use the same idea of a fixed table of pays by hits and a cash-out at the exact average. The pricing rule is explained in How cash-out games work.

Tips that hold up

  • There is nothing to aim at. The moles are drawn in advance; bashing faster or harder does nothing.
  • Cash out is a choice about swings. It does not give an edge.
  • Do not chase the top prizes. Nine golds is a once-in-50,000 outcome.
  • Expect most rounds to be small or empty. The table shows 47.7% pay nothing.

Play with limits

Streaky games make it easy to say "one more round". Decide your limit before you start, and see Play Safely in Cashout Arcade: Limits and Breaks for tools. Cashout Arcade is for adults aged 18+, uses virtual coins and has no real-money prizes.

Frequently asked questions

Does a bomb mole lose everything?

No. A bomb ends the round, but you keep the pay for the gold moles you have already bashed. With fewer than two golds that pay is zero.

What does Cash out pay between moles?

The exact average of what the rest of the round would pay from where you are. Cashing out and playing on return the same on average.

What do plain moles do?

Nothing. They pop up, you bash them, and the round carries on. Only gold and bomb moles change the result.

Can I win real money?

No. Coins are virtual and have no cash value.
