High Striker: How It Works, Odds and Payouts

High Striker in Cashout Arcade: swing the mallet and the puck climbs to one of ten heights or none. Each height's chance and payout, up to the 100x bell.

How High Striker plays

  1. Set your bet.
  2. Tap to play. The result is decided the moment you play.
  3. The animation is the reveal. You win your bet times the multiplier shown.

The rule people miss: 0x means no win. Anything above 0x pays your bet times that number.

High Striker is the carnival strength-tester. You swing the mallet, the puck climbs the tower, and the height it reaches sets your payout. There are ten marked heights from Tap at the bottom to the BELL at the top, and a chance that the puck never reaches the first mark.

Coins are virtual and have no cash value. The swing has no skill: the height is drawn on our servers when you tap, and the animation is the reveal. It is a fixed table of weighted heights, not a target you choose, which makes it different from Limbo: How It Works, Odds and Payouts.

How a round works

  1. Set your bet.
  2. Swing. One draw decides where the puck stops.
  3. The puck climbs to a marked height or falls short. You are paid the number on the height it reaches.

What the table tells you

  • The puck reaches a mark on 76.35% of swings, but only 23.1% of swings pay more than your bet. The lower heights are partial wins that return part of your stake.
  • The bet comes back exactly 15.25% of the time, on Push.
  • At least your bet back: 38.35% of swings (Push or better).
  • The BELL is a once-in-2,000 prize. At a 100-coin bet it pays 10,000 coins, but the average swing is still a 3-coin loss.

A worked example

You bet 100 coins for ten swings. On average, in ten swings you would see: 2 Taps (40 coins back in total), 1.8 Nudges (90), 1.5 Pushes (about 152), 0.9 Lifts (135), 0.7 Strongs (140), 0.4 Mighties (120), 0.2 Supers (100), 0.08 Hercules (80), 0.025 Legend (62.5) and 0.005 BELLs (50). That sums to 970 coins returned on 1,000 staked. In practice a ten-swing session is much lumpier than that average: about half of all ten-swing sessions contain no swing above 2x, and only about one session in ten includes a Hercules or better.

Max win and caps

The BELL's 100x is the biggest High Striker payout. That is far below the game-wide limits of 50,000x the bet and 250,000,000 coins per round.

What is the same as other carnival games

High Striker started as a Limbo target game and now pays from a fixed table of ten heights, so there is no target to choose. The result is a single draw like Mystic Booth: How It Works, Odds and Payouts and Ring Toss: How It Works, Odds and Payouts, where one result decides the round. For why a table with many small outcomes still feels swingy, see Volatility in Casino Games: Why Results Swing.

Tips that hold up

  • Swing as you like. Nothing about the animation, tap rhythm or hold time changes the result.
  • Low marks are consolation prizes. A Tap or a Nudge pays less than the bet.
  • A near-bell is not a signal. A swing that reaches Legend does not make the BELL more likely next time.
  • Pick a bet size you are comfortable losing. The average swing returns 97%, but more than 60% of swings pay less than the bet.

Play with limits

Swings are quick and the tower is dramatic. Decide how many swings you want before you start, and see Play Safely in Cashout Arcade: Limits and Breaks for tools to set limits. Cashout Arcade is for adults aged 18+, uses virtual coins and has no real-money prizes.

Frequently asked questions

Does how I swing matter?

No. The height of the puck is drawn on our servers when you tap, and the swing animation is the reveal. Timing and strength have no effect.

Can a result lose money even if the puck hits a mark?

Yes. The two lowest marks, Tap and Nudge, pay 0.2x and 0.5x. You see the puck reach a mark but get back less than your bet.

What does the bell at the top pay?

100x the bet, with a chance of 0.05%, or 1 swing in 2,000.

Can I win real money?

No. Coins are virtual and have no cash value.
