Dartboard: how it plays, odds and payouts

Dartboard is an instant game with three darts. Each dart lands in a zone, from Miss up to the Bullseye, and pays that zone's prize. The three pays are added, and when all three land in the same paying zone ("three in a bed") a bonus is added on top. It has one of the longest tails of any game in the lobby, because that bonus can reach 2,000x.

How a round works

1. Set your bet and throw. Three darts are drawn on our servers at once.
2. Each dart is placed in a zone using the same table: Miss, Single, Double, Triple, Outer Bull or Bullseye.
3. The three zone pays are added.
4. If all three darts are in the same paying zone, the zone's bonus is added as well.
5. Your bet is multiplied by the total and paid.

The throws on screen are the reveal. Where a dart sticks inside a zone is decoration.

Zones and bonuses

The chance that all three land in the same paying zone is 0.287% in total, about 1 round in 350. That tiny slice supplies roughly 3 percentage points of the 96.91% return, mostly from triples and doubles. Almost every round pays something (99.3% return at least 0.1x), but only 24.6% pay more than the bet.

Worked example

Throw 1 lands in a Triple (0.8x), throw 2 in a Triple (0.8x), throw 3 in a Single (0.1x). The sum is 1.7x, so a bet of 100 coins pays 170 coins. No bonus, because the third dart is in a different zone.

Now picture a third Triple instead. The sum is 0.8 x 3 = 2.4x, plus the triple bonus of 15x, for 17.4x, which is 1,740 coins on a 100-coin bet. Three triples happen about 1 round in 826.

At the top end, three bullseyes pay 3 x 5 + 2000 = 2,015x. The chance is (12 / 1,032) cubed, about 1 in 636,000. For a round that people rarely see, it shapes the game's volatility class: very high, even though the typical round pays between 0.1x and 1.7x.

Max win and limits

The maximum is 2,015x the bet, far below the game-wide limit of 50,000x the bet and 250,000,000 coins per round. Everyday rounds sit at the other end: the single most likely outcome is three Singles at 0.3x, which happens in about 15% of throws.

What matters and what does not

• Aim, power or flick: none. The three zones are fixed before the dart leaves your hand.
• A "hot" board: each throw is independent. Two bullseyes in a row last time do not change the next throw.
• Bet size: scales the coin amounts, not the odds.

An honest read is that the return mostly comes from the small stuff: three darts at about 0.3x each give about 0.94x, and the bonuses add the rest. See volatility explained for what that kind of shape feels like over a session.

How it differs from other instant games

Pinball multiplies a score by a lane, so one draw decides most of the result. Dartboard sums three separate draws, so there is an extra layer of mid-sized results, and a distant, huge tail. Fishing and Capsule Toy have a single draw with a size or rarity twist.
